The Lindsay Creative Quilter’s Guild meets at 1:00 p.m. the second Monday of each month from September to June at the Cambridge St. United Church, 61 Cambridge St. N.  Lindsay, Ontario, Canada.  The cost to join is $35 per year.

Our guild has been in existence since October, 1986.  The About us link to the left gives the history of our guild.

 

We exhibit our quilts at a quilt show that we organize every  two years.  Our last show was held May 30 & 31, 2009 at the Lindsay Curling Club 18 Peel St. in Lindsay, ON, Canada.  We made a beautiful quilt to raffle at this show.  The proceeds went to Women’s Resources. Our Quilt Show for 2011 will be held May 28th and 29th from 10 am to 4 pm. 

 

Our guild is very active we have had as many as 200 members registered in one year.  Every year, we have a different charity that we try to help.  Previous  charities include the Lindsay Pregnancy Crisis Centre, Extendicare, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Women’s shelters and various other organizations that we feel we would like to assist.  To assist these organizations, we have made quilts for them, raised money through raffle quilts at our quilt shows, donated necessities of life etc.  We have many generous guild members.

 

Our meetings consist of speakers or teaching of some sort, a wonderful show and share, a member’s forum and a coffee break when we can chat and enjoy seeing everyone’s work for that month’s show and share.

 

We have an excellent library which has been enlarged over the years due to the resourcefulness of the library committee members.  We are very fortunate to have so many really good books. 

 

Every year for the past few years, we have taken a 4-5 day bus trip to Pennsylvania to see the quilt show in Lancaster.  It is a truly wonderful trip and we not only visit the show but also different quilt shops and other interesting sights in the area.

 

Our last meeting for the season 2009-2010 will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday June 14, 2010.  This meeting is opened  to members only.
